The Studio – B&H Plays Host to Sports Emmys Voting

For the third straight year, The Studio – B&H and its New York City-based Studio Technology Center served as host for portions of the voting process of the annual Sports Emmys.

B&H-Black-The-Studio-copyThe Studio – B&H partnered with Steve Ulrich, Executive Director at The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences to provide its stereoscopic 3D screening room with Dolby 5.1 Surround Sound for Sports Emmy voters to come in and vie the nominees.

For the B&H team, its an ideal time to touch base with many key customers in the sports video production industry.

“It really helps us see what these guys are looking at and understand what their criteria is for judging,” says Michel Suissa, manager at The Studio – B&H. “At the same time, its very interesting to get all of these guys in a room to see what projects they are working on. It’s a really good networking opportunity. It’s become our own little conference.”

Suissa also adds that the opportunity to host the Sports Emmy voters has helped them build long-standing customer relationships over the years.

“It’s a natural back and forth,” he says. “These people come in and see that we have some pretty sophisticated technology and they are free to engage us. We’re very happy to have the opportunity to answer their questions.”

The Sports Emmy Award Ceremony will be held at Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Frederick P. Rose Hall in New York City on May 6.
