Super Bowl 50: EEG To Provide Closed-Captioning to Fans At Home, In Stadium

During the big game on Sunday, fans sitting in their living rooms or in the stands can follow the action with the help of closed-captioning support from EEG.

EEG.FinalLogoCBS Sports will deploy EEG’s HD492 iCap encoder for closed-captioning on the linear-broadcast feed. iCap standardizes and modernizes live-captioning workflows, providing secure, fully logged, and instant online access to a network of thousands of trained professional captioners.

At Levi’s Stadium, EEG will deploy an HD492 iCap encoder equipped with the iCap Mobile browser-based application, which streams live captioning to smartphones, tablets, and other handheld devices. The iCap encoder’s scoreboard interface will be able to transcribe announcements to in-venue videoboards and in-house IPTV channels; iCap Mobile takes that closed-captioning data and streams it directly to fan mobile devices through the Levi’s Stadium app.
