IBC 2016: Evertz takes part in IP interoperability demos in Amsterdam

For IBC 2016, Evertz will be participating in a number of IP interoperability demonstrations.  Evertz, with its Software Defined Video Networking (SDVN) solutions, continues to demonstrate its commitment to open formats and standards for uncompressed video, audio, and metadata over IP. 

Evertz-RGB LOGOEvertz will be participating with ten other ASPEN Community members on the ASPEN Community stand located at 8.D12.  ASPEN is an open framework that enables independent flows for video, audio, and metadata in an IP-based broadcast and media facility.  ASPEN expands on the MPEG-2 Transport Stream (IEC 13818-1 or ITU-T Rec. H.222.0) standard to include uncompressed UHD/3G/HD/SD video over TS (SMPTE RDD 37).  The ASPEN framework also utilizes open standards for transporting audio (SMPTE ST 302) and metadata (SMPTE ST 2038).   SMPTE 2022-2 is used to encapsulate the transport streams into IP.

Evertz and the ASPEN Community are promoting a roadmap that enables facilities deploying scalable IP-based systems today using ASPEN (SMPTE RDD 37) with a path to the harmonization format under consideration for SMPTE 2110.

Evertz is also participating in the AMWA, EBU, SMPTE, and VSF interop in the IBC IP Interoperability Zone (8.D10) with VSF TR-03, which includes RFC 4175, AES67, and PTP.    After a successful interop in Houston, TX at the end of August 2016, Evertz will demonstrate progress being made with VSF TR-03 and TR-04.   Evertz participation in the IBC IP Interoperability Zone also highlights its support of the roadmap from TR-03 and TR-04 as recommendations to the SMPTE 2110 family of standards.

Evertz will be part of a multivendor interop with Arista Networks (8.A11) using SMPTE 2022-6.
