Daktronics To Intro New Left Field Ribbon Display for Iowa Cubs

Daktronics is designing, manufacturing and installing a new ribbon display in the left field of Principal Park, in Des Moines, Iowa, home of the Iowa Cubs, minor league affiliate of baseball’s champion Chicago Cubs. The 130 feet of LED technology is being installed this March and will be operation before the start of the 2017 season.

“We’re very excited to add another great Daktronics board to Principal Park,” says Iowa Cubs principal owner Michael Gartner. “Our big main video board has been a big hit with fans and sponsors the past two seasons. And the new board in left field will add to the game-day experience for fans at the 71 Iowa Cubs games as well as the 28 high school state tournament games we host each summer.”

It brings with it the capability to highlight scores and statistics which baseball fans are accustomed to as well as the ability to highlight sponsors throughout every game.

“We’re honored to be called upon again by the Iowa Cubs to ensure their game-day is top notch,” says Matt Warnke, Daktronics sales representative. “The new ribbon display in left field will add to the in-game capabilities of the team and will provide fans even more stats and information that they like to see at the games as well as provide sponsors a dynamic way to share their message. It will be a great addition for the upcoming season.”
