The SVG Podcast, Episode 5: Game Creek Video EICs Roxanne Joseph and Abby Schneider

How the changing face of the engineering industry is impacting live sports production

Recruiting new, young, and diverse talent into the sports video production community has been an on-going challenge across the industry. Among the mobile production facility providers who have taken that challenge head on is Game Creek Video, who run a successful outfit called the “Apprenticeship Program.”

Two successful products of that program are Abby Schneider and Roxanne Joseph, two engineers (EICs) that have become regular contributors on compounds. The two got the unique chance to work together on a production when they both supported a broadcast of a NHL game between the Montreal Canadiens and New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden back in February.

SVG senior editor Karen Hogan sits down with Abby and Roxanne to discuss what its like being a young engineer in today’s rapidly changing media space, where they see the industry going, their advice for others looking to crack into the business, and what its like to be a female in a predominantly male industry.

The SVG Podcast is a show designed specifically for the sports video production professional and will bring you new episodes every other Wednesday. The program features interviews with some of the biggest, most influential names in the sports video business talking trends and topics that are making an impact on the industry.
