BroadcastAsia 2017: The Telos Alliance TV Solutions Group Displays Linear Acoustic AMS

The Telos Alliance TV Solutions Group (TVSG) is showcasing its Linear Acoustic AMS at the 2017 BroadcastAsia Show (stand 4J2-01). AMS is a comprehensive hardware and software solution for authoring and monitoring 3D audio in compliance with the ATSC 3.0 Digital Television System specification. AMS was recently honored at the National Association of Broadcasters show with a coveted best in show award from NewBay Media.
“We created AMS to deliver the full vision of an advanced consumer audio experience for digital television,” says John Schur, President of The Telos Alliance TV Solutions Group. “We’re excited to demonstrate how our recently introduced AMS can efficiently and effectively deliver advanced MPEG-H audio.”

The Linear Acoustic AMS offers a web interface, which controls the interactive features of MPEG-H offered to the viewer. The web interface offers presets for different listening experiences, enabling viewers to personalize their sound experience for optimal playback on any platform, from mobile devices to immersive home theaters.

Among the many features available via the web interface are device configuration and status, monitoring control, input/output routing, audio mixing and object panning, loudness processing and more. Linear Acoustic AMS provides full user control to author MPEG-H audio streams using the web interface. The process is as simple as assigning the 15 available mono inputs to the 10 available channel groups. Additionally, the solution simultaneously delivers advanced audio for ATSC 3.0 broadcasts and 5.1/2-channel audio for ATSC 1.0 broadcasts.

The Telos Alliance TV Solutions Group won NewBay Media’s TV Technology Best of Show Awards for the Linear Acoustic AMS at the 2017 NAB show. Products and solutions are evaluated by a panel of engineers and industry experts, and are selected based on innovation, feature set, cost efficiency and performance in serving the industry.
