New Audio Products To Sound Off at InfoComm 2017

Sports is increasingly important for vendors of PA and other systems

The InfoComm Show 2017 (exhibits June 14-16, Orange County Convention Center, Orlando) has become a regular stop on the live-sound trade-show circuit. Each year, professional audio takes up a larger percentage of the AVL smorgasbord presented by nearly 1,000 exhibitors showcasing new products in the AVL and control categories (plus drones) in more than 500,000 sq. ft. of expo space, including two dozen audio demo rooms. For the 2017 show, pro audio has been largely consolidated into an Audio Pavilion, located on the show floor to be accessible to the demo rooms that many loudspeaker companies will be using as showcase venues. A list of Pavilion exhibitors is here.

Sports continues to be a growing vertical at the show for PA systems, which offers opportunities for almost every related pro-audio category. Here’s a sample of what can be seen — and heard — in Orlando.

Beyerdynamic (Booth 5775) will show two new products. The TG 500 wireless microphone system is suitable for houses of worship, K-12, corporate meetings, smaller stages, theater productions, or speeches. The TG 1000 Dante 24-bit digital wireless system covers 319 MHz of the UHF bandwidth and can be deployed in touring, theatrical, and installation environments with low latency and no companding.

InfoComm 2017 will be the first time that all Bosch Communications Systems (Demo Room W221BC/Booth 6043) professional brands (Bosch, Electro-Voice, RTS, Telex) will be shown alongside Bosch Security Systems fire, intrusion, and video products.

DPA Microphones (Booth 6169) will debut its new d:vice MMA-A digital-audio interface and DSM6000 microphone base. The MMA-A features flexibility and a small form factor, allowing the user to pull out the d:vice for any unexpected situation that might arise.

Pliant SmartBook headset

Pliant Technologies (Booth 5469), the professional-intercom division of CoachComm, will display its compact SmartBoom LITE headset. Accompanying the line of SmartBoom PRO headsets, the SmartBoom LITE series features exceptional comfort, audio quality, advanced features, and design enhancements.

Renkus-Heinz (Demo Room W224E) will introduce SA Series amplifiers designed to unify all Renkus-Heinz loudspeakers across integrated connectivity and control platforms. They will be making their debut with the new C and T Series point-source loudspeakers. Powered versions C and T Series models feature the new SA625 (output 500 W + 125 W) and SA1250 (output 1,000 W + 250 W) amplifiers, with connectivity options including standard analog, RHAON, and single or dual/redundant networked Dante.

Making its InfoComm debut, Riedel‘s (Booth 5770) Bolero is an expandable, full-roaming, DECT-based intercom system in the license-free 1.9 GHz frequency range. Bolero is fully integrated into Riedel’s Artist digital matrix intercom platform and can be applied three ways: as a wireless beltpack, as a wireless keypanel, and — in an industry first — as a walkie-talkie radio. Riedel will also showcase its new Desktop SmartPanel, which features 12 keys, two TFT touchscreen LCD displays, and an integrated power supply. On-board AES67, AVB, and AES3 connectivity allows direct connection to Riedel’s Artist digital matrix intercom systems without the need for expansion modules.

Yamaha (Booth 6360) will have NEXO’s new GEO M10 line array on display at Demo Room W224B.
