TAB 2017: TVU Networks To Showcase TVU One, TVU Remote-Production System, and TVU Router

At the Texas Association of Broadcasters (TAB) Convention (August 9-10 in Austin), TVU Networks will showcase its shipping line of video solutions, including TVU One with HEVC live mobile IP newsgathering transmitter, TVU RPS (Remote Production System) for cost effective remote and At-Home video production, and TVU Router for reliable wireless 200Mbps high-speed Internet connectivity at its booth #109.

TVU One

Held at the Renaissance Austin Hotel, TAB is the largest state broadcast association convention with over 1,100 annual registrants.

On display and being demonstrated at TAB will be the currently shipping TVU One with HEVC mobile IP newsgathering transmitter, which supports the efficient H.265/HEVC video compression standard. With an established customer base, the TVU One with HEVC cellular mobile solution uses both HEVC video compression and TVU’s patented Inverse Statmux Plus (IS+) transmission algorithm to transmit HD quality video with half-second latency.

It offers greater stability, uses less data and with less overhead. TVU One with HEVC is available with embedded modems and can transmit simultaneously over multiple connections, including cellular, microwave, satellite, BGAN, WiFi, and Ethernet.

Weighing just 2.2 pounds, TVU One with HEVC offers a robust set of functions designed to fit the needs of any size live video broadcaster. It delivers industry-leading video transmission resiliency and high-definition picture quality within an ultra-compact and rugged hardware chassis. With TVU One with HEVC, broadcasters can fully leverage the versatility of a small, lightweight, IP-based high-definition video field transmitter without sacrificing performance, features or picture quality.

The TVU MLink TE4500 H.265/HEVC rack-mount transmitter is also available and currently shipping with HEVC and 4K support. The rack-mount encoder transmits video using HEVC video compression and Inverse StatMux Plus advanced IP video technology. It brings cellular 3G/4G LTE transmission capabilities to satellite and microwave vehicles, vans and trucks.

The latest version of TVU RPS, Version 3.0, will also be a part of the company’s TAB exhibition. TVU RPS enables production of a live, frame accurate, genlocked and synchronized multi-camera program in a remote location using mainly a broadcaster’s existing control room in their studio and a public Internet connection from the venue.

The transmitter encodes up to six synchronized SDI sources and transmits high-quality and low-latency IP video from the remote location to a studio-based receiver, and the receiver outputs six synchronized SDI outputs.

Version 3.0 adds the ability to synchronize across multiple unit pairs for additional channels, add a VLAN tunnel to connect any IP device between the field and studio and add support for VoIP.  By utilizing existing in-house production staff and equipment at the studio, a broadcaster no longer needs its own production crew in the field, saving significant cost in producing a remote, multi-camera live shot.

TVU Router provides over 200Mbps of Internet connectivity from virtually any remote location and acts as a network accelerator. With TVU Router as a portable field access point, users can transfer and receive files, stream video, search the web, utilize any IP connected device or service to pass data and more for a high speed, reliable and secure data connection. Existing TVU customers can easily take advantage of TVU Router without the need for additional hardware or data services as a software option for TVUPack and TVU One.
