3DTV.com reports that James Cameron believes the new Hobbit movie will spark a revolution

Producer Director Cameron thinks the Hobbit will do for high definition film-making what Avatar did for 3D.

Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit was filmed at 48 FPS, rather than the standard 24, which as we’ve reported before, met with mixed reactions when the film was previewed some months ago in Las Vegas.

Cameron is a big fan of 48 FPS, because it eliminates the strobing or flicker you see at the slower frame rate.
