NAB 2016: EVS, FIBA Partner To Deliver the #EVSlamDunk Experience

EVS and FIBA, the International Basketball Federation, organizer of FIBA Basketball World Cup and other events like FIBA EuroBasket, the FIBA AmeriCup, the FIBA AfroBasket Cup, and the FIBA Asia Cup, are bringing a very special event to the EVS booth at the 2016 NAB Show – The #EVSlamDunk Experience.

Immersing Visitors in Live Sport
unnamedAs part of its live solution demonstrations at its booth (SL3816), EVS is inviting visitors to become players at the center of the action at the #EVSlamDunk Experience. At a purpose-built basketball court, which will feature a Daktronics scoreboard and referee’s table, vistors will be filmed by eight cameras attempting either a free throw or a slam dunk.  Feeds from the cameras will be sent to EVS servers at the courtside control room, where an LSM operator will create instant replay clips with integrate data, such as shot clock information.  Once the replay has been created and enriched with data, a FIBA referee will review the multi-camera clips using EVS’ new referee solution, Xeebra.

Experience the Latest Live Tools
The #EVSlamDunk Experience will be the first public demonstration of EVS’ referee system, Xeebra. Used for the first time during the Super Bowl 50 broadcast, the system enables referees with a fast and easy way to view multiple angles from a single interface. From their location on the field or in the broadcast booth, officials can use Xeebra’s intuitive touchscreen enables multiple screen views and zoom-in capabilities of continually synchronized replays from up to 16 HD cameras for making the cleanest calls.

Other EVS solutions being demonstrated in the live experience include the latest Live Slow Motion (LSM) tools for adding more efficiency to the on-air presentation, including EPSIO FX, which enables high impact graphics and data from scoreboard and shot clock details to be easily added to the live and slow motion replays.

FanCast, the all-in-one recording, production and multi-screen distribution solution for enhanced fan engagement and EVS’ IT-based production switcher, DYVI, will also be part of the demonstration.
