NAB 2016: EVS Rolls Out Interactive Basketball Court to Demo New Replay Solution for Refs

EVS will turn its booth at NAB 2016 into immersive live demonstration of the live environment. Introducing new replay solutions and new media production servers, EVS will highlight instant media exchange, the latest storytelling tools, and solutions to enable the transition to IP on booth SL3816. The #EVSlamDunk Experience
Partnering with one of sport’s leading governing bodies, EVS will immerse show-goers in a live multimedia experience. On the interactive basketball court, visitors will see how in-game action is captured through eight-camera recording, live replay production, performance review, content packaging with EVS’ DYVI switcher and multimedia distribution. The #EVSlamDunk Experience will also give attendees an up-close demonstration of EVS’ new replay solution for referees, offering intuitive and frame-accurate review tools.

unnamed (6)Exclusively using EVS technology, this real-world demonstration will show how both broadcasters and stadium/arena operators can use the latest in live tools to connect with today’s sports fans. The setup shows how a highly connected and vibrant fan experience leads to greater engagement, deeper loyalties and new revenue opportunities. Full details of the #EVSlamDunk demonstration will be announced shortly.

On-booth production truck
Introduced for the first time, EVS’ booth will also feature its own OB truck set up. Here, visitors will see integrated live solutions enabled by EVS’ latest Multicam engine software to drive more creative storytelling and dramatically improve production control. Allowing a heightened audience-viewing experience, visitors will see the latest generation live tools from EVS for live virtual effects, fast multi-angle creation and more productive operations.

unnamed (5)EVS will also extend the XT3’s successful 6U ChannelMAX mode with a new 4U offering, enabling customers to double the channel density of their live production server to eight or 12 channels respectively, and beyond. ChannelMAX-enabled systems will continue to expand through Multicam engine software updates, allowing the flexible server – with the most native codec support and SuperMotion camera support in the industry, according to EVS – to grow alongside customers’ needs.

More speed, control and collaboration
NAB 2016 will see EVS’ introduction of the brand new XS3 media production server. Providing improved content management and greater production integration, the XS3 expands from two to 12 channels as required. With the widest native codec and format support available for HD and UHD operations and key & fill functions, it’s fast, powerful, flexible, and reliable

unnamed (4)EVS will also showcase the Ingest Funnel’s multi-format and multi-codec content ingest and the newly upgraded DYVI IT-based switcher, with an intuitive panel, distributed architecture and scalable processor for unprecedented creative control and streamlined production.

NAB attendees will also be able to see EVS’ new contribution platform C-Next. This tool lets production crews benefit from a more collaborative, bi-directional workflow for easy sharing of content between multiple venues.

Advancing IP-based solutions
The progressive migration to IP requires smart management of hybrid SDI/IP workflows, the integration of off-the-shelf networking equipment and new solutions that will optimize production technology resources.

unnamed (3)EVS’ IP4Live strategic approach lets users benefits from IP-based workflows while preserving their existing investments. Interoperable solutions like the XiP media gateway expands IP capabilities of the XT3 and XS3 media production servers and DYVI IT-based switching. As a member of the Alliance for IP Media Solutions (AIMS), EVS will demonstrate its support for the adoption, standardization and development of open protocols for media through a series of interoperable live workflow demonstrations presented with other AIMS members on the NAB show floor.
