SVG@NAB Perspectives: Philip Nelson Breaks Down NewTek's Impact on IP Workflows with NDI and the New TalkShow VS 4000

At the 2016 NAB Show, NewTek debuted the NewTek Connect Pro, a multipurpose software tool designed to seamlessly connect IP video formats, is expounding upon its Network Designed Interface (NDI) to meet the demands of the IP workflow world, and introducing the newest version of its Skype Talkshow line.

Bringing together IP video standards, including NDI, and support for streaming IP formats found in cameras from JVC, Panasonic, PTZ Optics, Sony, and Vaddio, NewTek Connect Pro empowers users to take advantage of an end-to-end IP live-production workflow. The service includes support of ASPEN and SMPTE 2022 protocols.

On Monday, NewTek announced NDI for Adobe Creative Cloud, a software plug-in with NewTek’s NDI technology, which allows users of Adobe Premiere Pro CC, Adobe After Effects CC, and other Adobe applications to send real-time video and audio to NDI-enabled receiving products, including production switchers or capture cards, across a standard Ethernet network.

At last year’s NAB Show, NewTek launched the TalkShow VS 1000 that brought Skype into the broadcast interview environment. At this year’s show, the company unveiled the new TalkShow VS 4000, a multi-channel video calling production system for both SDI and IP workflows thats up the game from bringing in one Skype interview call to up to a many as four.
