Mark Schubin, the engineer who helped design the “Live from Lincoln Center” broadcasts, shares his insights on how opera, over the course of four centuries, essentially created all modern media, including newscasts and sportscasts.

As part of the evening’s free presentation, Mr. Schubin also discussed the complicated logistics of doing “The Metropolitan Opera: Live in HD.”
