Brazil Delays Analog Switch-off

Advanced-Television.com reports that Brazil’s planned June 2016 analogue TV switch-off date will be missed. Brazil’s ministry of communications now says that while some cities will make the target date, others will miss it.

The new plan calls for the metropolitan region of Sao Paulo (and its 27 cities) to being switching off its analogue transmission signals in March 2015, with a rolling programming spreading to the wider Federal districts by 2016 although the task is made extremely complicated by the number of public and independent channels operating in some parts of the country.
