TVU Networks (Booth SU3605) will exhibit major software updates for TVUPack mobile IP newsgathering solutions and TVU Grid IP video-switching, -routing and -distribution solutions.

TVUPack version 5.5 offers integrated MIMO Mesh and real-time Full HD error-free video transfer, intended to make it a dependable mobile uplink cellular device for transmitting video in practically any bandwidth environment. TVU Grid version 3.0 features improved lower-latency performance and an updated user interface.

TVU is also introducing its TVU Booking Service, designed to work with both TVUPack and TVU Grid and adds automated booking and scheduling via simple Web interface.

New features in TVUPack version 5.5 include the following:
Embedded microwave mesh MIMO radio — Used in conjunction with cellular, Ethernet, and WiFi connections, when connected to a MIMO microwave mesh network, TVUPack delivers greater transmission resiliency in challenging bandwidth environments for superior picture quality.
Real-time HD file transfer — New progressive download functionality offers a flexible option for multimedia journalists looking to use store-and-forward functionality: TVUPack can deliver a HD-quality error-free video clip in real time without waiting until the clip is fully recorded.

Enhanced TVU Social functionality — Updated TVU Social platform will enable field crews to post still images from the TVUPack transmission directly to Facebook.

Dual-channel receiver capabilities — A second available channel for TVUPack receivers ensures that TVU receivers can input live streams from two TVUPack transmitters simultaneously.

Performance enhancements for TVU Grid version 3.0 enables broadcast organizations to distribute video at lower latency settings, including subsecond latency. Grid 3.0 also features a simplified user interface.

With one-button operation and the ability to simultaneously transmit over multiple combinations of cellular, WiFi, microwave, and BGAN, Ka-band, and Ku-band satellite links, TVUPack enables broadcasters to deliver live streaming video from practically any location. It also offers broadcasters TVU’s IS+ transmission protocol and Smart VBR technology to ensure enhanced resiliency and superior picture quality in fluctuating bandwidth conditions, as well as the ability to transmit HD video with subsecond latency.

TVU Grid enables TV stations to manage, route, switch, and distribute live video content through both public and private Internet connections. Video-source–agnostic, TVU Grid can seamlessly switch between any connected IP or SDI sources and fits seamlessly within any broadcast-production workflow.
