ImmediaTV Powers Video Processing for Biggest Sports Events

The Sports Video Group is pleased to welcome ImmediaTV as a corporate sponsor. Based in Santa Clara, CA, the company builds highly reliable and flexible video-processing products for a variety of markets, including sports. Its encoders, gateways, decoders, and transcoders were used at the 2014 Sochi Olympics, the FIFA World Cup, the Boston Marathon, and the Super Bowl.

Says VP of Marketing Mike Galli, “We’ve gained a reputation for making products that ‘just work.’ Our products are very flexible, which solves another industry problem: that each market needs a different product. The same products are used by broadcasters, companies, schools, and churches.”

Founded in 2009 by broadcast- and network-equipment veterans, ImmediaTV has established itself as a leading provider of video-processing and network solutions. The company provides cost-effective, high-performance MPEG-4 AVC video-compression, digital-video–transport, and digital-video–processing solutions for IPTV, professional broadcast, enterprise video delivery, and streaming video.

At the Sochi Olympics, ImmediaTV encoders were used for distribution to a number of countries around the world across satellite and fiber networks. At the World Cup, they were used for distribution to the U.S. and Europe and for OTT services within Brazil. The link to Europe was streamed using RTMP (Adobe Flash), the first time by that service provider.

At Super Bowl XLIX in Arizona, ImmediaTV’s products were deployed over microwave using ASI outputs, over IP networks, and over local cellular networks — all without a hitch.
