Traffic Sports International Works With GlobeCast to Broadcast Latin American Soccer

Traffic Sports International, a rights-holder for several Brazilian soccer (football) clubs, has chosen GlobeCast to provide satellite contribution services for delivery of several high-profile Latin American soccer championships to fans in the Americas, Europe, and Asia. Through the end of 2012, GlobeCast will support distribution of over 150 soccer matches, representing hundreds of hours of programming, for the Copa Libertadores, Copa Sudamericana, Copa Kia Do Brasil, Liga Mexicana, and the FA Cup.

GlobeCast’s reputation for covering large sporting events, such as the UEFA Champions’ League, led Traffic Sports International to call on the content management and delivery company. GlobeCast is handling satellite turnaround of each match across the Americas via IS-9 and IS-805, in Europe via Eutelsat 10A, and in Asia via Asiasat 5. In addition to content delivery, GlobeCast is providing troubleshooting and backup, as well as standards conversion.

“We’re pleased to be partnering with Traffic Sports International for global distribution of these exciting Latin American soccer events. With an average of five matches per week, that’s a lot of sports action for fans around the world,” said Ricardo Flores, Head of Sales Latin America at GlobeCast Americas. “For these events, Traffic Sports International is relying on GlobeCast to provide the high reliability and quality service that has made our company the leader in global content delivery.”
