Presteigne Charter Germany supports ARD coverage of 2012 Games
With a project duration of only three weeks, Presteigne Charter Germany has built six VandA (Video and Audio) boxes for the ARD live coverage of the London 2012 Games. These mobile boxes will be used at various venues to transfer video and audio signals from the Mixed Zones to the IBC (International Broadcasting Centre).
The scope included the design and implementation of the entire audio and video installation in custom-made 19″ flight cases. Installed were AJA HD10AMA Embedder/De-embedder, Zähl AIB-1 Microphone Amplifier, Lynx PTG3610B / D Test Signal Generators, and Millennium SP 31 Audio Signal Splitter. In addition, the boxes were constructed with a 3 U drawer to store headsets, microphones, In-Ear monitoring kits, XLR cables and various manuals, all housed within a space-saving design.
Ulrich A. Maslak was responsible for the complete project management at Presteigne Charter Germany and, working to specific detailed instructions Maslak, together with the system engineer Dieter Kollmayer, was responsible for not only the planning and implementation, but also the specific design and practical operation of the boxes.
