memorial trust fund in honor of ESPN and sports industry audio
legend Ron Scalise that will be used for the college education of his
three children: Rosario, 16, RJ, 11, and his daughter Brenna, 10. At
the request of the family this will be the only fund established to

third-annual “Sports & Technology Research Survey, highlighting the power
that sports content has as both a driver of HD set sales as well as other new
technologies. The survey includes our exclusive 2008 Super Bowl Briefing as
well as new data about consumer online sports viewing behavior.
NEP Acquires CBS Sports Contracts and HD12, HD1 Truck Units From NMT National Mobile Television (NMT), in an effort to decrease its debt load and focus attention on servicing regional sports networks has sold its HD 12 and HD1 truck units and its CBS contracts and associated facilities to NEP Broadcasting. “While we greatly value and have enjoyed our relationship with CBS Sports over the last 10 years, this transaction is a critical piece of our planned restructuring and repositioning of NMT,” says Frank Coll, NMT SVP, operations. “With a restructured balance sheet and a focused strategy, NMT is positioned to profitably serve its niche in this growing market.” | Full Story
Game-day production at the college level is rapidly rivaling that done at the professional level, so the University of Oklahoma got one step ahead of the game, bringing in an executive director of video production from the professional ranks. Before moving to Norman, Brandon Meier spent four years as a production manager and producer for the Houston Rockets, so he was happy to help choose the industry-standard equipment to power Oklahoma’s new HD control room. SVG-U caught up with Meier before the start of the football season to talk HD, streaming, and the college band.

Olympic events, and IPDirector to select clips from other venues or
events throughout the day. The IPDirector was also used with a second

to overturn the agency's decision to sanction the company for blocking
certain Internet traffic, the Wall Street Journal reports. The FCC also ordered Comcast to stop by the end of the year blocking
traffic related to specific applications, such as file-sharing software

While the Dems left plenty of work to be done to turn Denver's Pepsi Center back into an arena, Hurricane Gustav damaged LSU's Tiger Stadium enough to postpone Saturday's football game. Elsewhere, Pennsylvania looks to have two new arenas in the works and the Phoenix Suns are taking their team name literally in designing the US Airways Center.

Jachetta started MultiDyne in 1977 with the development of the first portable test-signal and ID generator. He provided leadership and direction for more than 30 years, while designing and developing many of MultiDyne’s products and systems. He also made numerous contributions to the broadcast industry, including developing a long-haul equalizing video-distribution amplifier that helped get CNN on the air. And he developed the industry’s first digital hand-held video/audio test-signal generator in 1990 and was awarded several patents. | Full Story
