Grupo Multimedios has chosen Dalet NewsPro for Omneon to digitize its Multimedios Laguna facilities in the city of Torreon, state of Coahuila located in the North of Mexico. Deployed by Dalet Certified Business Partner DMS Tecnologias, the Dalet turn-key package provides journalists and producers with an end-to-end tapeless production and playout platform.

“Dalet NewsPro for Omneon gives us everything we need in a single box!” says Mr. Sergio Riojas, Chief technology Officer at Grupo Multimedios. “It is a turn-key platform to ingest, edit, schedule and playout our news and programs. It really makes the move to tapeless production a breeze. It will also help us to begin a full newsroom integration within the Newspaper, TV and Radio organizations”

“An increasing number of leading organizations such as Grupo Multimedios seek standardized platforms to implement tapeless workflows across their network,” explains Mr. Nicolas Hans, Director of Marketing at Dalet. “Dalet NewsPro for Omneon was specifically designed as a turn-key package to help such broadcasters seamlessly transition to digital environments.”

“Dalet NewsPro for Omneon really allows us to better service our customers,” comments Mr. Miguel Miranda, General Manager of DMS Tecnologias. “It combines best-of-breed broadcast and IT equipments with a configurable software production and playout platform. As system integrators, it allows us to differentiate ourselves by bundling associated professional services so as to offer broadcasters an integrated, turn-key solution.”

At Grupo Multimedios, Dalet NewsPro for Omneon ensures for field material captured using Panasonic P2 and DVCPRO 25 electronic news gathering equipment to be directly transferred over an Ethernet switched network to a NetApp 270 NAS device used as central production storage. Because all material is systematically referenced and tracked by the Dalet media asset management database, journalists and editors can easily browse available media and make shot selections; these selections can be further edited using Dalet NewsPro editing tools or forwarded to Apple Final Cut Pro NLE suites. The integrated Dalet workflow and notification engine facilitates the review and approval cycle and ensures the seamless migration of stories to an Omneon MediaDeck for playout.
