FSN Midwest’s regular-season coverage of St. Louis Cardinals baseball starts opening day, March 31, with the live High Definition (HD) telecast of the Cardinals season opener against the Colorado Rockies and more than 10 hours of live and taped baseball programming. The centerpiece of opening day is live coverage from Busch Stadium, which starts at 2:00 PM with the Cardinals Live pregame show. Cardinals Live will include live coverage of opening day festivities at Busch including the motorcade of Cardinals around the ballpark. The Rockies-Cardinals game broadcast begins at 3 p.m., with Dan McLaughlin and Al Hrabosky calling the action. The Cardinals Live postgame show immediately follows. Fans who miss the live daytime action can catch it at 7 p.m. when FSN Midwest replays the Rockies-Cardinals game. The opener is the first of 130 games on FSN Midwest in 2008 – 88 of which will be produced in HD. In addition, FSN Midwest will deploy “X-Mo” super-slow motion replay technology on opening day and during many Cardinals home games beginning this season. McLaughlin and Hrabosky serve as FSN’s primary play-by-play
team. Rick Horton, in his second year as the analyst on Cardinals Live,
will also call 10 games from the booth – five as play-by-play announcer and
five as analyst. Pat Parris hosts the Cardinals Live pregame and postgame
shows, and Jim Hayes and Brent Stover serve as hosts and reporters on the
show. Stover returns to FSN Midwest after previously serving as an anchor
and reporter for FSN Midwest and FSN Pittsburgh. Stover also performs
play-by-play and anchor duties on the Big Ten Network Opening Day – Monday, March 31 on FSN
