Utah Scientific introduced two new additions to its master control switcher product family. The MC-4000 delivers two complete signal processing channels in a 3-RU package, offering larger broadcasters a fully integrated system for the most demanding on-air operations. For smaller applications, the MC-40 provides a standalone package that integrates the company's widely successful MC-400 channel branding board along with an 8-input board that allows the MC-40 to be used separately from the UTAH-400 routing switcher.

The MC-4000 features switchable HD/SD operation for maximum flexibility. Each processor channel has four keyers that can be fed with internal logos or external key signals, a built-in two-window squeeze-back effects generator, internal audio and video clip stores, and a complete EAS message processing system with text crawl generator and audio buffer/playback functionality.

The MC-40, with two keyers, internal logo generator, audio clip store, and EAS crawl presentation facilities, can be used as a stand-alone master control switcher with four sources or downstreamed from a router to get additional sources on-air. The MC-40 can also be utilized as a dedicated EAS message presentation system downstream from an existing master control switcher.

"The MC-4000 and MC-40 are powerful additions to our master control family that address the different needs of our customer base," said Tom Harmon, CEO of Utah Scientific. "Utah's master control technology is proven to be totally reliable and comes with the same industry-leading ten-year warranty as our routing systems. Now we're taking that technology and adapting it for the changing needs of different areas of the market."
