For the first time ever the U.S. Open Championship, slated for Torrey Pines golf course in San Diego this June, is scheduled to be broadcast in primetime. On Saturday June 14, NBC's third round coverage will air from 4-10 p.m. EST, with final round coverage on Father's Day Sunday from 3-9 p.m. ET. This is the first scheduled primetime broadcast in U.S. Open history (past Opens have concluded in primetime due to weather conditions).

"What a great way to spend Father's Day weekend, with the best golfers in the world playing America's championship in primetime," said Dick Ebersol, Chairman, NBC Universal Sports & Olympics.

Three of the next five U.S. Open Championships will take place on the West Coast. In addition to Torrey Pines, the Open will return to Pebble Beach (Calif.) in 2010 and in 2012 will be played at Olympic Club in San Francisco.

NBC Sports will provide more than 16 hours of high definition U.S. Open coverage – the most extensive coverage provided for any golf event and the only one with network coverage of first- and second-round play.

Friday, June 13 3-5 p.m. ET
Saturday, June 14       4-10 p.m. ET
