BBC used Envivio video encoders to deliver live video feeds of the Beijing Olympic Games to its production staff in the UK. The encoders were selected for their ability to deliver high quality video in very low bit rates for delivery over IP networks. The encoders for the Olympics are in addition to other applications where the BBC employs Envivio encoders, including live video contribution for the nightly news.

"Managing available bandwidth is critical to any live production, doubly so when faced with the multiple simultaneous venues of a singular event like the Olympics," said Julien Signès, President and CEO of Envivio. "We are very pleased that the BBC again came to Envivio for a solution that combines high quality video with very low bandwidth to meet the challenge of this high profile event."
