Adobe introduced an upgrade to its multimedia creation technology with the new Director 11. Adobe Director 11 is intended for content creators, game developers and eLearning application authors. Director 11 supports for more than 40 video, audio, and image file formats.

“With Director 11, you can orchestrate even more of your favorite media-like animations and video created with Flash or AGEIA PhysX enabled 3D worlds,” said Allen Partridge, Adobe Director evangelist. Downloading the new Shockwave Player to experience high-performance multimedia created in Director 11.

Director 11 supports Adobe Flash CS3 Professional software, Adobe Flash, and Unicode. Director 11 also allows for native 3D rendering with DirectX 9 support. Director 11 includes an enhanced script browser, an enhanced user interface and an enhanced text rendering engine. Director 11 costs $999 for the full product and $299 for an upgrade.
