memorial trust fund in honor of ESPN and sports industry audio
legend Ron Scalise that will be used for the college education of his
three children: Rosario, 16, RJ, 11, and his daughter Brenna, 10. At
the request of the family this will be the only fund established to

Third Annual Sports & Technology Research Study
The Sports Video Group and the Consumer Electronics Association has released the
third-annual “Sports & Technology Research Survey, highlighting the power
that sports content has as both a driver of HD set sales as well as other new
technologies. The survey includes our exclusive 2008 Super Bowl Briefing as
well as new data about consumer online sports viewing behavior.
Media Global Links Co., Ltd. (MGL), a developer and
manufacturer of broadcast network infrastructure technologies, has been awarded
an order from Fuji Television Network, Inc., a Japanese broadcaster, and its
content producer, for a first of its kind video routing solution to be
installed at Fuji TV’s new network operations center in
Tokyo,
Japan.
The new network operations center will make Fuji TV the world’s first
television station to deploy a fully IP-based internal and external video
routing solution.
The new network operations center will control all of Fuji TV’s signals, both
inside and outside the facility. All program content will be encapsulated into
IP packets to achieve a unified routing process. At the core of the system is
the world largest IP video router in a single chassis, Media Global Links’
MD10000. The system handles both conventional video streams and
advanced media files of many types, including the next generation MXF files
that are increasingly used in high-quality video production.

Fuji’s
TV headquarters, affiliates and studios using10Gbps (Giga bit per second)
circuits at a capacity of 3.2Tbps (Tera bit per second), which means that it
can switch up to 800 uncompressed HD video streams simultaneously. Owing
to Media Global Links’ original technology, the MD10000 provides 100%
guaranteed bandwidth, even for multicast applications, providing a highly
secure and reliable transport system to satisfy broadcasters’ stringent
requirements.
