“The new features on the popular C200 HD console reflect the continuing refinement process SSL engages in to meet industry needs,” comments Niall Feldman, Solid State Logic Director of Product Marketing. “The expanded remote digital I/O capabilities are the perfect example of how the C200 HD addresses the future of Digital Broadcast.”
Managing a vast array of input and output sources is a daily occurrence in the broadcast industry. The expanded C200 HD feature set now includes routing system expansion to over 5,600 inputs and outputs to yield flexible management of huge audio I/O resources. Coupled with the SSL Stagebox system expansion with modular, hot-swap I/O, the routing capabilities yield a cost-effective system with a wealth of broadcast related configuration options for mic, line, AES and SDI I/O.
The C200 HD now offers full support for Tri-level sync with solid internal clocking for the highest audio stability and performance to picture. This is an important capability as the broadcast world is moving into an all High Definition production model that relies on Tri-level sync to link various high definition components such as cameras and audio recorders. The C200 HD also supports HD playback machine control and dynamic automation at both SD and HD frame rates.
SSL’s proprietary Centuri core contains all audio and control processing, I/O
options and GPI interfacing within a single, robust chassis. Up to 512 inputs
and outputs may be handled directly from the Centuri core. Card options include
Analogue, AES/EBU Digital and MADI, all operating at 24-bit with sample rate
conversion for digital I/O as standard. A 60-channel GPI card may be fitted to
provide programmable machine starts, cue lights and the like.
The C200 HD provides the latest adaptation of SSL’s popular in-line console
heritage with a dedicated ‘knob per function’ control surface. The C200 is
suitable for creative mixing applications, such as music or live entertainment,
where ‘hands on’ access to a large numbers of controls is essential. In-line
versatility and the provision of both Snapshot and Dynamic automation make the
console ideal for both live-to-air and post production mixing applications.
With options for 48 or 96kHz operation, the C200 delivers superior audio
performance. All channels provide 4-band parametric EQ, high and low pass
filters, and independent compressor/limiter and gate/expander sections.
Processing is dedicated to every channel so there's no need to assign resources
at the start of the setup, and emulations such as the SSL ‘E’ and ‘G’ Series
EQ, and ‘Quad’ compressor, provide familiar and great sounding audio
tools.
