As
podcasting and Internet video become more common in sports networks’ and leagues’
online programming, podcasters are looking for a cost-effective way to get audio
into a PC.
Audio-Technica’s
new AT2020USB studio microphone
plugs into a computer’s USB
port and functions seamlessly with recording software. The AT2020 features a
USB digital output compatible with Windows and Mac computers and includes
a tripod desk stand, a pivoting stand mount, a USB cable, and storage pouch.
The AT2020 USB is based on the design of Audio-Technica’s AT2020
cardioid-condenser microphone.
At NAB, Audio-Technica
will also exhibit its SpectraPulse UWB wireless system.
SpectraPulse offers 14 simultaneous channels that operate flawlessly without RF
turf wars, frequency hunting/coordination, white-space issues, or interference.
Audio-Technica
mics are also being used for many surround-sound applications during sporting
events. Fox Sports NASCAR coverage relies on them, and Audio-Technica expects
to provide a large number of microphones for the upcoming Beijing Olympics in
August.
