Fischer
Connectors will showcase their fiber-optic HDTV broadcast camera connector at
NAB. The company believes the 1053 HDTV broadcast camera connector provides the
answer that many camera manufacturers, mobile truck providers, production
centers, and broadcast studios have been waiting for to make the transition to
fiber-based HDTV cameras.
The 1053
Series combines broadcast triax connectors with Corning UniCam “No Epoxy – No
Polish” fiber-optic contacts. The technology has a fast and easy termination,
typically 30 minutes from start to finish and the connectors also have
elastomer protection against shock, crush and cable bend. It complies with all
OEM HD camera equipment. Fischer also provides training and maintenance courses
with the product.
To ensure
compatibility with all HDTV broadcast camera manufacturers, the 1053 HDTV
camera connector is SMPTE signal-compliant, employing two single-mode fiber
contacts, two high voltage contacts, and two low voltage signal contacts.
Elimination of unnecessary optical
connections throughout the signal path provides for fewer contacts to clean and
a correspondingly lower signal loss.
