Many sports broadcasters are moving to digital asset
management in an increasingly file-based world. Preview+, a module to Nesbit’s
Media Library System (MLS), provides a digital-asset-management system that
adds video proxy files to the information managed by the MLS. Preview+ offers a
single portal for managing both analog and digital content. The NSi Media
Library System is an archival and tracking system for video production.
The video proxy files provide frame-accurate representations
of digital content. Functions include video logging, EDL creation, and
distribution of selected log records to file formats of the user’s choice.
“With Preview+, we make it easy to achieve digital asset management, video
logging, clip selection, and distribution of the file,” says NSi President
Irene Nesbit. “We listened carefully to what our customers wanted.”
With Preview+, users can also create a subset of a low-res
file and transform it to the format required for streaming. And Preview+ now
integrates with IPV, Thomson Grass Valley Aurora Browse, and EVS.
