Sony Creative Software is expected to announce new tools to
help support Blu-ray disc production at this year’s NAB convention. Sony
Creative Software has also been very focused on integrating its applications
with Sony hardware over the past year in an effort to bring Blu-ray into the
post-production environment.
At last year’s NAB, Sony Creative Software announced that it
was developing a new 64-bit version of its Vegas Pro software to address the
greater computing power requirements of HD production workflows. Sony Creative
Software will be providing more information on the 64-bit version of the Vegas
Pro software set to ship later this year at its user event to be held at the
LVCC the evening of Monday, April 14 at 6:30 pm.
Les Stroud, creator and host of the popular “Survivorman”
series on Discovery Channel will be giving the keynote speech at the event.
Attendees are encouraged to register on the Sony Creative Software website as
space is limited. Stroud will also be on hand in the Sony booth (SL12413) on
Tuesday, April 15 at 11 am and 3 pm. Sign up to attend at www.thefullhd.com
“It’s always been our
goal to make it as easy as possible for the editor to focus on telling a story,
rather than investing in working through the technology used to express their
narratives,” says David Chaimson, vice president of marketing for Sony Creative
Software. “With Sony Creative Software’s focus on supporting tapeless workflows
and integrating as much as possible with Sony hardware, we’ve been working
throughout the year to help Vegas Pro users concentrate on what they do best:
Telling great tales through the visual medium.”
