Studer offers new Vista
Booth: N8229

Studer will showcase new developments for the Studer Vista range of consoles at NAB in the continuing effort to make it easier to mix 5.1 Surround Sound signals.
New features include managing 5.1 input sources on a single fader with comprehensive and easy to use panning and level control facilities. One-button functionality clearly makes the organizing of a live broadcast much simpler.

The newest member of the Vista series is the Studer Vista 8, a digital live production console that incorporates the Vistonics User Interface, and provides what Studer calls unmatched output metering and control.

The Vista 8 combines and extends the powerful broadcast features of the Vista 6 with the dynamic automation of the Vista 7 to offer a highly sophisticated and flexible multipurpose live broadcast desk. The console consists of one Control Bay as well as between two and six channel bays incorporating 22, 32, 42, 52 62 or 72 faders.

Vistonics is Studer’s patented technology that is already familiar to broadcasters as a version of it has already proved popular on Soundcraft’s Vi Series of Digital Live Sound consoles. Vistonics uses an array of encoders mounted directly into TFT screens to give immediate viewing and access of channel and output parameters. The company says freelance engineers will be able to use the console within minutes, while experienced users will become more creative, thanks to the speed of operation. The Vistonics User Interface allows for an audio function to always be associated with the same color.

Other features include 5.1 input management, Dolby E and SDI decoding/de-embedding, surround monitoring and comprehensive stereo downmixing functions.
