Telecast Fiber Systems launches SuperBooth for mobile needs

Telecast Fiber Systems has launched SuperBooth, an exclusive suite of fiber optic systems packaged for demanding and specialized mobile applications, and is also shipping two new fiber optic communications modules in support of the award-winning openGear terminal equipment platform.

SuperBooth is an exclusive suite of fiber optic systems packaged for demanding and specialized mobile applications, such as televised coverage of golf events. SuperBooth provides broadcasters with a plug-and-play solution for leveraging fiber optic networks to overcome the challenges of mobile coverage and deliver the highest-quality video to viewers.

The SuperBooth application suite includes Telecast Fiber Systems' Adder II audio, intercom, and data multiplexer; DiamondBack 4X4 audio and video multiplexer; Telethon HD/SDI CWDM multiplexer; and the company's new dual-redundant AC/DC RackBack™ power system. Telecast assembled this combination of products in order to provide a single, easy-to-install package for tapping into pre-existing fiber infrastructures at sports venues and quickly linking in all resources, including HD or SD cameras, monitors, intercom feeds, and all audio feeds.

Telecast Fiber Systems is also shipping two new fiber optic communications modules in support of the award-winning openGear terminal equipment platform. The new modules include a card pair for transmitting and receiving uncompressed SDI/HD-SDI signals over fiber, and another pair for SDI plus two asynchronous AES audio. 

Founded by Ross Video, openGear is an open standard for a modular, 2RU frame that can house card modules of any type from a number of manufacturers for plug-and-play assembly of a video control system in broadcasting production operations. openGear also provides the platform for a Web-based control system that allows for quick and easy monitoring and control of openGear frames and modules on the network. With the two new modules, Telecast is providing the fiber optic component for a complete openGear rack mount solution.
