Some of China’s leading broadcasters will be using Vinten heads, pedestals, tripods and other accessories for their Olympics coverage in August this year. The Vinten equipment will be used for live OB productions from trucks on site at various Olympic venues as well as for studio based presenter-led analysis of the action.
The latest companies to specify a range of Vinten equipment for their Olympics coverage include Liaoning TV, Guandong TV, Shanghai Media Group, Tianjin TV
and Shandong TV.
For outside broadcast productions the companies are equipped with a selection of Vector pan & tilt heads as well as multiple Vision 100 and Vision 250 systems.
Four Vector heavy duty pan & tilt heads together with four Pro-Ped pedestals have been selected by Tianjin TV for use with a teleprompter for their presenter-led studio broadcasts.
Vector pan & tilt heads are the preferred option for many OB camera operators because of the range’s proven technology, utter reliability and the familiarity of the system.
All Vector pan & tilt heads feature Vinten’s unique Perfect Balance system, which offers precisely the right amount of torque necessary to counterbalance the camera throughout its tilt range, making the camera appear weightless in the hands of the operator. This consistent freedom of movement means it is equally easy to move or pan the camera in any direction and minimises the physical effort of working the camera and holding it in position. As every camera operator knows when working for long periods in OB environments, this is a significant advantage! Combined with Vinten’s precision drag systems, robust construction and significant payload capacity, the Vector heads deliver a level of operator ease and product performance that is ideal for the OB arena.
“We are delighted to be working closely with such a large number of Chinese broadcast customers both before and during the Olympics, building on our already strong presence in the Asian broadcast sector,” said Itsuro Tezuka, Head of Sales, AsiaPac, from the Vitec Group plc Representative Office in Beijing.
“Without exception they have told us they have specified Vinten for such an important event as the Olympics because of Vinten’s long established reputation, the equipment’s excellent track record in product reliability and quality, and the availability of local customer service support.
“Ease of operation and familiarity for the camera crews are very important as well in high pressure, live action environments like this. Because of the type of fast paced sports action that these broadcasters will be covering, Vinten’s unique Perfect Balance and precision drag systems will ensure the camera crews have complete, smooth control and can keep up with the action under any conditions. It will enable all of them to deliver the best quality Olympics coverage to local and international audiences.”
