Clear-Com
at NAB showcased its newest intercom system, Eclipse Version 5.0 and the system
is heading to
Beijing
to be used by CCTV for the Summer Games. Eclipse links together Clear-Com’s
V-Series panels and CellCom digital wireless system to provide greater
communication in a studio or at an on field venue.
“The
Eclipse has dual redundancy there is no interruption of service,” says Pat
Hamp, Clear Com’s Southeastern /
Caribbean
regional sales manager. The Cellcom wireless system newest version, CellCom10
Version 1.5.7 enables users to have up to 10 beltpacks that connect to remote
antennas. The wireless beltpack allows flexibility to roam and communicate
anywhere in an arena.
Working
in conjunction with an E-FIB card, fiber linking is what helps Eclipse
intercoms talk to one another. It was this fiber high density capability
that really appealed to CCTV for the Beijing Olympics. CCTV,
China
’s National Broadcaster, has selected Clear-Com to provide an intercom network
that will eventually span its entire broadcast operation for Beijing Olympics.
Clear-Com’s
communication network will provide a link for CCTV between the International
Broadcasting Centre (IBC), and CCTV’s new Television Culture Centre (TVCC) as
well as the existing CCTV,
which will
house administration along with news, broadcasting, studios and program
production
.
Clear-Com
also released their new 12- and 24-key Eclipse V-Series user panels will be
installed into various production rooms. The V-Series line supports five
Chinese characters on its graphical display, Digital Signal Processing for
audio routing, and “Listen Again” technology. “This is our voice messaging
system,” adds Hamp. “The frame has a fiber card, which has a warning system to
notify technicians if something is going wrong.”
