The Ottawa Senators since their return to the NHL in 1996 they have consistently been a Stanley Cup Contender.
The Senators current scoreboard is a
four sided video scoreboard, with only 8x10 foot LED screens. “Our video scoreboard is six years old,” said
Glen Gower, Director of Game Entertainment, Ottawa Senators Hockey Club.
” We need to upgrade to bigger screens."
The scoreboard videos are created using
3 x Panasonic DVC Pro cameras. They use many editing systems including Final Cut Pro, and After Effects
.
They also utilize an EVS system.
The videos are not produced in high definition. “We are
not in HD,” said Gower. “Not for another 2 years at least,” said Gower.
The Senators
graphics and videos are created mostly in house. Some videos however are outsourced to freelancers.
The stadium’s biggest asset is their control room. “We added a full production facility three years ago,” said Gower.
The Senators video production team at
Scotiabank Place thrives off of the team’s consistent success and their videos emulate the fans passion of their team but more importantly for the game itself. “
All of our videos focus on the hockey game,” The Senators feel that focusing on the sport best entertains the fans.
