NFL Network’s Lead Anchor Rich Eisen to Serve as Host of Pre-Game Event
NEW YORK, (March 21, 2006) – The First Annual NAB Pre-Game Show produced by the Sports Video Group (SVG) and its sponsors will be hosted by Rich Eisen, lead anchor of the NFL Network.
The event will be held the night before the opening of the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) convention on April 23 at ICE in Las Vegas.
An invited group of technology manufacturers will “beat the buzzer” to provide leaders in sports technology and operations a preview of the latest product offerings ahead of the NAB convention. SVG members will also give manufacturers a wish list of technologies needed to advance sports production and to enrich the sports fans experience at home, in the stadium and the athletic performance.
Companies sponsoring the First Annual Pre-Game Show include: Avid, Canon, Grass Valley, NMT, Omneon, Pesa, Reidel, Sennheiser, Snell & Wilcox, Sony, and Wohler. A final list of companies presenting at the SVG Pre-Game Show will be announced at a later date.
The NAB Pre-Game Show will be hosted by NFL Network Lead Anchor Rich Eisen. Eisen anchored Baseball2Day and ESPNEWS and served as an anchor/reporter for ESPN's SportsCenter from 1996 to 2003. He also hosted Baseball Tonight, RPM 2Night and handled play-by-play duties for Major League Baseball on ESPN and ESPN2.
“The Sports Video Group gathering at NAB will allow for fun, informal, important exchange of information between equipment manufacturers and television producers," said Steve Hellmuth, NBA Entertainment senior vice president of operations and technology. "While we see each other across conference tables and in the field, this unique opportunity will allow us to focus as a group on the challenges ahead as viewers demand more access, more stats, surround sound, and high-definition."
"Having an opportunity to get together with other members of the sports industry at the Sports Video Group NAB Pre-Game is invaluable because it gives us a chance to talk about new technologies and initiatives and to learn from each other," said Adam Shaw, senior vice president, NFL Network Distribution.
The First Annual NAB Pre-Game Show is open to all Sports Video Group members and their invited guests. For more information about the SVG, member benefits, and how to join visit www.sportsvideo.org.
