Linear Acoustic, a manufacturer of customer-centric multichannel sound solutions for digital broadcast, has announced the promotion of Erik Booth to the position of director of engineering. Previously a senior hardware engineer, Booth will now oversee all engineering and new product design, ensuring that system designs meet the company's development goals and delivery timelines.
"Erik has significant experience working with broadcast technologies on a variety of levels, from schematics and circuitry to system-level design," said Tim Carroll, president and founder of Linear Acoustic. "As we continue to develop innovative audio processing products for digital broadcasting, Erik's leadership and well-rounded experience in audio and video systems engineering will be tremendous assets."
Booth joined Linear Acoustic in February 2005 and has since played an instrumental role in the company's development of award-winning products for the audio industry. He began his engineering career in the area of control systems and subsequently spent a decade working as a senior hardware engineer for Sigma Electronics, a manufacturer of products for analog and digital television systems. Booth will report directly to Carroll.
