Anton/Bauer is showcasing its expanded CINE line of power products at IBC 2008.  The CINE VCLX and VCLX/2 offer superior runtime and service longevity for the power demands of today’s digital cinema production and lighting industries.  Each model employs the high-draw performance of the Nickel Metal Hydride technology of Anton/Bauer’s HyTRON 140 video batteries, making up a power package designed for the convergence of 28-volt film and 14-volt video equipment.

“In today’s digital cinema and film worlds, it is important that users are provided with uncomplicated power solutions that can easily adapt to both new and legacy equipment of film production,” says Michael Accardi, president of Anton/Bauer.  “Our expanded CINE line is specifically designed to meet that demand.”

Leveraging Anton/Bauer’s advancements in batteries and charging technology, as well as its origins in power for film cameras, the CINE-VCLX and VCLX/2 deliver the flexibility of dual simultaneous output voltages and a performance level that is more than equal to the demands of the equipment and the environments of digital cinema production.

Employing NiMH technology ported from Anton/Bauer’s field-proven HyTRON video batteries, CINE-VCLX and VCLX/2 are not subjected to transportation restrictions of lithium ion or the disposal burdens of lead acid batteries.   The batteries can deliver up to 32 amps total power, 12 amps from the regulated 28-volt channel and 20 amps from the 14-volt channel.  While the CINE VCLX offers 560-watt hours of high-performance NiMH power, the VCLX/2 delivers 280-watt hours within a compact easy-to-handle package.   Both batteries feature the exclusive Anton/Bauer RealTime™ capacity display, attune for the higher loads of cinema equipment, along with a visual LED battery change warning.  CINE batteries fit all dollies, including those of Chapman-Leonard and J.L. Fisher.

Specialized InterActive chargers for each of these batteries cuts charge time from old lead acid types to about seven hours for the CINE VCLX and to a rapid three hours for the VCLX/2.   Both CINE products can power an array of film cameras, including a series of ARRI models, Moviecam and such digital cameras as the ARRI D-20, Sony F23/F35, Phantom HD, Panavision Genesis and Sony F900s.  The high-power 28-volt output addresses up to 250-watt HMI lights and lighting panels from various manufacturers.
