Autoscript debuts evolutionary presenter control
by | Sep 12, 2008 - 12:46:57 PM
Autoscript is launching the
next generation of presenter controls which promise a longer life span than
conventional technology. Autoscript will be showcasing at IBC in Stand 9.C40e.
The Magno Footcontrol
utilises frictionless magnetic technology inspired by advanced automotive
engineering to overcome one of the main handicaps of existing control devices
which use a compression spring mechanism.
Brian Larter, Autoscript
Worldwide Managing Director explains: "Even using high quality tension
springs and tempering the repeated pushing and twisting action used to work all
current foot controllers will inevitably lead to a weakness over time. With a
design based purely on magnets there is no spring to break. In fact the Magno
Footcontrol is 100% service free."
The Magno control connects
directly with the WinPlus prompter software and features in-built intelligence
to allow production staff or multiple presenters to allocate any controller for
use at any time and with failsafe accuracy. Using intuitive deskpad keys the
presenter can immediately assign specific controllers; view which ones are
live; personalise them and enable or disable them. Seated or in a standing
position, the Magno is used with equal ease.
Unlike rival technology, the
Magno interfaces with broadcast standard coax enabling a hassle-free connection
to the studio's matrix for swift, practical set-up and reassuring reliability.
Adds Larter: "With the
increasing amount of news productions and the need for the talent/presenter to
control the prompter we have taken this to the next level of presenter
interaction and control, with unrivalled reliability.
"This is yet another
innovation devised from direct customer need and since Autoscript remain the
only prompting company to manufacture and develop software and hardware in
house we can react quickly to changing needs."
These new products are just
the tip of the iceberg when it comes to Autoscript's versatile solutions to
prompt presentations suitable for all situations and budgets.
Visitors are welcome to stop
by the IBC stand (9.C40e) for a demonstration of these products and to enquire
about more.
