Telemetrics is displaying the
latest enhancement to the company’s proven line of Triax and Coax Camera Control
Solutions here at IBC2008. The company’s new HD Fiber Link offers a convenient
and cost-effective means of transmitting true HD/SD SDI video from any camera
to Telemetrics’
Component Triax
and Coax Camera
Control Systems.
“Telemetrics’ HD Fiber Link
delivers a cost-efficient solution to the demand for HD video without
sacrificing performance over long distances when deployed with our field proven
Triax or Coax Camera Control Systems,” said Anthony Cuomo, Vice President and
General Manager, Telemetrics, Inc.
“This
introduction further exemplifies Telemetrics responsiveness to industry trends
and leadership position in camera control systems.”
The rack-mountable HD Fiber
Link Base Station is configured with one HD Fiber Link Receiver Card and can be
expanded to house up to four Receiver Cards.
Each card is designed with one fiber input and two HD/SD SDI
outputs.
For maximum flexibility and
economy, one HD Fiber Link Base Station can serve up to four Triax or Coax Camera
Control Systems with four separate cameras.
Telemetrics’
Component Triax Camera Control System interfaces to all major camera
manufacturers cameras for field or studio applications. It consists of a Triax
Camera Adapter and Base Station. It permits cable runs of up to 5000 feet,
using standard low cost, easily field repairable Triax or Coax cable. In
addition to the benefits of the standard Component Triax Camera Control System,
Telemetrics’ new HD Fiber Link offers a convenient and cost-effective means of
transmitting HD/SD SDI video from the camera to the base station. The
transmission medium is a single mode fiber optic cable, which runs alongside
with the main coax cable. The HD/SD SDI video from the camera is converted into
optical signal at the camera adapter, transmitted over the fiber optic cable,
and converted back to electrical signal at the HD Fiber Link Base Station.
Telemetrics
Coax Camera Control System is an affordable camera control system that offers
the many advantages of using standard RG-59/U coax cable. These include lower
cost, less weight, greater cable flexibility and increased operating distance.
Using frequency multiplexing, all the following necessary system signals are
transmitted: base band video from camera, external video to camera, genlock to
camera, power to the camera, microphone audio from camera, interphone to and
from camera, camera control and tally to camera. The system is available with a
variety of options including a direct docking adapter, battery clip, belt clip,
breakout camera adapter and a pan/tilt camera adapter. The new HD Fiber Link
offers a convenient and cost-effective means of transmitting HD/SD SDI video
from Telemetrics’ coax camera adapter to the base station. The transmission
medium is a single mode fiber optic cable, which runs alongside with the main
coax cable. The HD/SD SDI video from the camera is converted into optical
signal at the camera adapter, transmitted over the fiber optic cable, and
converted back to electrical signal at the HD Fiber Link Base Station.
