Zaxcom, says the Deva Mix-8
eight-fader mixing control panel will begin shipping to customers worldwide in
October 2008. The Deva Mix-8 integrates directly with the Deva and
high-resolution Fusion audio recording systems to provide a more compact,
mobile, and precise control panel for audio mixing. The product will be on
display for its European debut at IBC2008, in Stand 8.D81.
"Our Deva Mix-8 is an
exciting new concept in location mixing, allowing users to directly leverage
the strengths of our popular Deva and Fusion systems without the bulk and
expense associated with traditional mixing consoles," said Glenn Sanders,
Zaxcom president. "Harnessing the embedded mixer of its host Deva or
Fusion system, the Deva Mix-8 offers full control of mixing tasks that are
performed in the digital domain via a floating DSP, ensuring that we're
delivering both the highest possible quality and premium flexibility to our
customers."
The Deva Mix-8 incorporates
the comfort and familiarity of fader-based mixing controls into a control panel
that's compact enough for over-the-shoulder use. As a fully digital mixing
control panel, it integrates seamlessly with the digital foundation established
by the host Deva or Fusion system, in which only the microphone pre-amps,
analog-to-digital converters, and digital-to-analog converters connect to
analog inputs. These microphone pre-amps offer studio-quality sound, ensuring
that audio is not affected by transformers or other analog circuitry. All
mixing functions and powering of the unit are supported through just a single
cable connecting the Deva Mix-8 to its host Deva or Fusion system.
