Barry Johnstone has been Managing Director of CTV since 1981
when CTV was a fledgling post production and studio facility. He was responsible
for their move into the mobile television business in the mid 80’s – CTV was
then known as Carlton TV and became the
UK’s premier broadcast facilities
provider.
In 1995 Johnstone bought the non-outside broadcast business
from the parent company Carlton Communications and in 1996 re-entered the
outside broadcast market place with a new fleet of digital trucks.
Johnstone split up the company in 1999 and sold CTV Outside
Broadcasts to NMT, the studio and transmission facilities were re branded as Corinthian
TV and sold to Technicolor / Thomson in 2004.
Barry subsequently oversaw the sale of CTV Ob’s to the UBF
Media Group in 2005.
In October 2007 the UBF Media Group merged with
France’s Euro Media Television to create
Europe’s largest Broadcast facilities provider, Barry
will continue as MD of CTV and combine this with his new role of COO of the
Euro Media Group.
