for broadband and wireless
Program Schedule:
1:30-2:30: The Archive Ecosystem: From HDTV to Proxy
Inceasingly today’s archives begin with an HD broadcast. What are the most effective means to move those high-resolution files from the broadcast facility to the league archive? How will broadcast and broadband partners be able to interface with the archive, for both deep and Nearline content? And how can the archive systems cost-effectively scale to meet ever-increasing
demands?
2:45-3:45: Editing Systems and the Archive: Interfacing and Workflow
A simple interface for editing, metadata logging, and pushing and pulling content from the archive is of paramount importance. What are editing system makers doing to create a drag and drop workflow from archive to timeline? What are the challenges? What are the implications of MXF and other wrappers and standards?
4-5 p.m. The Codec Challenge: Open vs. Closed
Both leagues and their broadcast partners face a daunting challenge of buying into a digital archive for millions of dollars that could, potentially, become a money pit if a codec changes or become obsolete. What are the codec options and how do they stack up? What steps should a league or broadcaster take to ensure an today is protected for years to come? What are the different
types formats and storage devices that are suitable for long-term needs?
