Chyron graphics gear hits Latin America

Chyron’s Duet LEX and Duet MicroX 2D/3D real-time graphics systems are heading to Latin America as several major Latin America broadcasters, including Repretel, Costa Rica’s leading TV network, and TV Vanguarda, provider of television coverage to 46 cities in Brazil, will use the systems to handle live graphic production.
In Costa Rica, two Duet LEX systems have been purchased by Repretel in Costa Rica, the current operator of three popular television stations. Repretel is geared to a general audience, consisting of primarily sports, entertainment and news programming.

TV Vanguarda of Brazil, the current provider of coverage to 46 cities in the north of the state of Sao Paulo, recently upgraded itsbroadcasting facility with Chyron’s MicroX and CAL Box. The Chyron systems will be used for high-profile sports events.

Chyron’s Duet MicroX is a 2RU single-channel CG with broadcast-quality, real-time animation and playout. It can function as the main CG for a smaller facility or as a dedicated channel in larger installations. CAL Box is Chyron’s graphics platform that can create custom applications for broadcast-quality graphics playout. A great feature for the sports market is the ability to connect CAL’s data update module to real-time data feeds for continuous sports info which can automatically be displayed in static or animated text, rolls and crawls.
