DallasCowboys.com tap Limelight Networks

The Dallas Cowboys Web site, which recently won the award for best content during the 2006 NFL Business Summit, is looking to improve its digital delivery infrastructure with the help of Limelight Networks.

Limelight’s high-performance content delivery network is highly scalable and designed to handle on-demand and live Internet distribution of video, music, games and downloads. Current customers include FoxNews.com, MySpace, Xbox Live and Belo Interactive.

“We selected Limelight Networks based on its solid reputation for providing the reliable, scalable performance we need to leverage the Internet in reaching out to our fan base,” said Jerry Jones, Jr., Chief Sales and Marketing Officer of the Dallas Cowboys and President and GM of the Dallas Desparados. “DallasCowboys.com plays an important and growing role in enabling us to interact and connect with our fans on a continuous basis. Live and on-demand video of the Cowboys and related content on our site greatly enhances that process.”

DallasCowboys.com, with the help of Limelight, now provides always-on access to breaking Cowboys news, including info on newest college draft picks, interviews with players, head coach Bill Parcells, and owner and general manager Jerry Jones. In addition, the site provides coverage of the Cowboys’ cheerleaders and the Dallas Desparados, the organization’s Arena Football League team.

“With so much exclusive video content on their favorite team streaming to their PCs, portable media players and mobile phones Cowboys fans can stay stoked and enthusiastic between games,” said Lou Greco, vice president of Sales at Limelight.
