2007 Pan American Games host bcaster bid process opens
The Organizing Committee of the Pan American Games Rio 2007 has opened the bidding process for the host broadcaster, the company that will be responsible for the recruitment, production, coordination and delivery of radio and TV signals of the Pan American Games Rio 2007 in the International Broadcasting Center (IBC).
The company will be responsible for structuring and operating the IBC, supplying mobile facilities, required equipment and specialized and qualified workforce, for the provision to the Right Holding Broadcasters, to PASO and CO-RIO of the services and facilities required to broadcast the Games.
In order to take part in the selection process, the specialized companies must meet some requirements by virtue of the complexity of the service to be performed. Due to this fact, previous experience in international multisports events is required, such as Olympic and Continental Games. Detailed experience in TV planning and production and radio and TV signals transmission planning and coordination for this kind of events are also fundamental.
What to expect? During the process, participating companies shall also submit three envelopes. The first will contain a qualification with all company documents; the second the technical proposal, with a technical engineering plan, one production plan and a Complex Sports Events Projects management plan. And the third will contain the price, to be presented in national currency and shall consider all prices, expenses and all direct and indirect costs and rates.
The host broadcaster will be funded by resources from CO-RIO sponsors program, as per authorization given by Rio de Janeiro City Hall. Companies interested in participating in the selection process should submit the envelopes, with all required documents on July 31st, from 1:00p.m. to 6:00 p.m., at CO-RIO headquarters.
