Cleveland Browns will have state-of-the-art Ribbon Boards next season

By Andrew Lippe
Cleveland Browns Stadium was one of the first to employ Daktronics LED video display technology, and the venue will break new ground once again next season when the stadium gets ProAd digital displays above both sidelines. The boards, often referred to as ribbon boards, will be mounted on the fascia inside the Stadium and run from goal line to goal line.
The boards contain almost three quarters of a million individual red, green and blue light-emitting diodes. The Center-to-center pixel spacing for the new displays is 23 mm (.9 inches). The giant size of these boards alone will shock fans and many will be tremendously surprised with their color capacity. Images diaplayed on these boards will create everlasting images.
The additional displays will be incorporated into the existing Daktronics LED video displays behind each end zone, and two large full-color displays outside the stadium. The Miami Dolphins, Arizona Cardinals, and Carolina Panthers will also add Daktronics ProAd technology to their stadiums when the 2006 season begins.
