XOS Technologies Adds Sagio Software to its Analysis Arsenal

By Carolyn Braff
Sometimes a picture is worth a whole lot more with those 1,000 words (or numbers) alongside it. XOS Technologies, an industry leader in football video analysis, has obtained the technology necessary to analyze the gridiron not only from every visual angle, but mathematically, as well.
The company s acqusition of Sagio Software gives XOS a by-the-numbers game analysis application used by NFL and collegiate football programs alike. Coaches use it to analyze statistical reporting for their opponents tendencies, explains Bryan Schindler, president of Sagio Software and now principal software engineer for XOS. It s sort of a database that allows for data analysis, versus video analysis.

Putting a video analysis system alongside an analytical software package like Sagio creates an extremely thorough scouting tool for football coaches. Once the two systems are integrated, XOS clients will be able to use Sagio analysis software alongside XOS s existing video editing platform, giving football coaches a streamlined way to preview their opponents and review game film from both a visual and analytical angle.

XOS currently has video editing networks in place in roughly 90% of the NFL and NCAA BCS market. The company will use Sagio software in the next generation of its editing platform to attempt to boost that number further.

The Sagio software is the best software on the market for game analysis, says Bob Simmons, president of coaching solutions at XOS. This software and this platform will play a key role in the heart of our next-generation editing network.

Schindler adds that matching the data analysis with video analysis is a strong match. At some point I was going to get the video piece of this and this was sort of a perfect marriage, with XOS providing the best video, he says. I just thought it was a perfect solution.

Schindler will be joined by fellow Sagio employee Mike Stoever at XOS. Stoever serves as a field service representative, working with customers out of the Gainesville, FL office.

XOS Technologies offers four main product lines to its more than 400 clients in professional and collegiate sports teams, leagues, and administrators: Coaching Solutions, Facilities Design & Integration, XOS Network Interactive Fan Services Platform, and XOS Total Ticketing & Donor Management Solution. XOS products are in place in across the country in practice facilities and arenas of the company s 750 represented teams in the NFL, AFL, CFL, NBA, WNBA, NHL, MLB, MLS, NAIA and the NCAA.
