Game Creek taps Pesa for FOX NFL/NASCAR truck

Game Creek Video s latest HD mobile unit, built for Fox Sports NFL and NASCAR coverage, will rely on a Pesa Cheetah 1024XR frame routing switcher, populated as a 512×1024 HD-SDI multirate router, for its audio signal distribution need.

Paul Bonar, Game Creek Video VP of engineering, says the one-rack unit router helps solve three problems related to routers in mobile trucks: size, heat and power. We wanted a router that would fit our needs in the digital world as well as handling our requirements with analog, he says. The Cheetah DSR audio system does just that.

The key to the Cheetah DRS audio distribution system is its 1 rack unit DRS frame that allows for building blocks of 128 inputs or outputs to be placed in different locations. With Gigabit Ethernet for distribution an input and output frame can be connected with one RJ-45 cable and located up to 300 feet apart to make up a 128×128 mono audio system. Pesa says a 1RY data exchange engine can allow even longer distances via duplex fiber interconnect.
The Game Creek truck will also use Pesa s PERC2000 control software to monitor the health of the unit, incorporate SNMP network management software, and setup network connectivity through a GUI interface.
